Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet for 2006 Tucson Transgender Awareness Week Events
Volunteers, Transgender Awareness Week, Southern Arizona Gender Alliance
RESTRICTED; this document contains personal information and permission is required by archivists to review the document in-person.
A list of events from the 2006 Transgender Awareness Week with typed and written names of people who volunteered to work or help out with the events. It details the personnel needs for each event, as well as a more minute description of the timing of events. According to the document, not every event had a volunteer sign up, referencing either a lack of personnel or that the events were staffed by people who volunteered after this document was finished.
The volunteer sheet has three events listed:...
-Trans Awareness Community Fair
-Self-Defense 101
-International Transgender Day of Remembrance
...as well as a call for volunteers to process the attendee survey results after the events and to compile datasheets. It seems that, from the datasheets available in the archive, that Misty Blue was one of these people, but this volunteer sheet has no one listed.

Transgender Awareness Week, Southern Arizona Gender Alliance, Advertisement
This advertisement contains a complete schedule of the 2006 Tucson Transgender Awareness Week, along with descriptions, timing, and location of events. The formatting is based around a calendar, where each event is included on its according day and in descending order according to the time of the event. On the upper right there are portraits of featured presenters (Dean Spade, Loren Cameron, Donna Rose, and Sage Hopson). On the bottom there are icons of the many groups that SAGA partnered with for the week's events, as well as contact information for Jessica Pettitt, coordinator of the University of Arizona's Center for Social Justice Learning Center.
Notable things regarding the document:
-Most of the events take place on the University of Arizona's campus.
-The events used Wingspan's branding, as it was the parent organization of SAGA until 2014, where Wingspan dissolved into the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation and SAGA struck out on its own. The events were still planned and run primarily by SAGA members/leaders.

Transgender Awareness Week Attendee ZIP Code Analysis - Misty Blue
ZIP Codes, Transgender Awareness Week, SAGA, Misty Blue
Attendees to Trangender Awareness Week Events were prompted to record their ZIP code. The document itself does not attach the ZIP codes to any names. Misty Blue, a secretary of some kind for the Southern Arizona Gender Alliance, compiled these ZIP codes to analyze them, but for no stated reason. Archivist note: after analyzing the ZIP codes myself, I found that the majority of the attendees to the events come from richer and whiter ZIP code zones.

Arizona Daily Star Advertisement for 2006 Transgender Awareness Week (Print Newspaper)
Transgender Awareness Week; Tucson; Southern Arizona Gender Alliance; 2006;
The Southern Arizona Gender Alliance promoted stories for popular newspapers to run in preparation for Transgender Awareness Week 2006. This advertisement starts with a quirky interaction between a transman and a convenience store clerk who assumed he was a cisman. The reporter uses this micro-story to expound upon broader issues amongst transgender people, which they note the events of Transgender Awareness Week will address. The story contains basic information about what it means to be transgender, quotes from the SAGA Program Coordinator, C. Michael Woodward, a SAGA case manager named Alison Davison, and a local graduate student named Joe Nutini, all transgender. It concludes with the schedule of events. Contains a picture of Alison Davison at work.
